The Carol Butler Show had Beth Bargar as a guest today. Beth Bargar is a professional PR, journalist and editor. Today's interview: "How To Get Started With Pr and Journalism - An Interview with Beth Bargar.
Beth graciously consented to share her extensive knowledge and experience that every Business Owner, Author or News Media can understand the difference between PR, reporting and what makes a good editor.

Because of her 30 years of experience she could easily speak of back in the day and now. How to break into the field today was helpful and the tools and resources needed to be successful and some mistakes not to make.
Her advice, her opinions and experiences made for an engaging and informative interview. Hope you'll visit her on Facebook at Beth Cox Bargar and LIKE my Facebook page: The Carol Butler Show and share it with anyone you feel would appreciate and enjoy this information.
Thank you to everyone who made the live stream and for those coming in later, keep those questions coming. Both Beth and I will address them as they come in.
Tune into The Carol Butler Show next Thursday at 11 a.m. and stay in touch on my personal page (Carol King Butler) where I announce the topic and actually begin the LIVE STREAMS!
This is the latest "The Carol Butler Show"
As mentioned in the show, I'll be entering the Powtoon contest to do a parody on Clinton and Trump. If I end up getting the most Facebook LIKES then I'll get $1500 which would help pay off my animal CareCard. Keep an eye out for it. Want to create it fast and hope if you LIKE it you'll share it and get others to. I hope to make it funny...after all, it has been a rather unusual amount of material to use for comedy in this election.
This was my LIVESTREAM show I do on Thursdays at 11 a.m. EST. My topic for this show was "Why I Chose To Donate My Body To Research." The link to it on Facebook is at the bottom (or copy it here and paste into your browser...it's a short cut link to it: http://bit.ly/2egZxKN)
It is a personal decision and I have no interest in convincing you to choose it over burial or cremation. I did have to bring up how I reached this decision and that meant talking about this subject which rarely comes up.
At any rate, my hope is that you'll find it informative (certainly not morbid) and frankly, entertaining. That's just how I do it.
Please comment, ask questions...don't claim to have all the answers but I've spent a bit of time experiencing most of these (2nd hand of course...well you have to have a little humor).
The most fascinating thing I've observed so far is the lack of comments on Facebook. Usually I get emails if folks don't comment publicly. But I've gotten a lot of views and I'm just surprised not half that amount of comments. Maybe I answered it all (or enough that no one felt the need to ask more).
Still, think you'll find it enlightening, sincere with some aside humor.
After each show I post an item I sell (money will go to my rescues) and nothing has been over $20...this week it's $15 for...well click on The Carol Butler Show Offers in my navigation bar. Sometimes they'll relate to the show, other times they won't. This one does NOT relate at all to the show but I feel it's always been something everyone of us have needed at least once or twice in their lives. Help support the rescues if you feel this would help you!
The link below is not clickable. You highlight it and paste it in your browser. It's a shortcut link to the livestream video I did.
This all started when I took a 13 second iPhone shot of his tail to see his reaction when I told him I loved him. I took it in slow motion. I wanted to share it to Facebook and this blog. First my Dropbox from my iPhone to my iMac wouldn't work. Then my iCloud decided it too wouldn't share. My computer is one year too old to use software called Reflector 2 or AirPlay. I sent to YouTube but then I couldn't edit with the music and sound effects I added in. Now I've got over an hour put in to this.
Then I had one of those moments of brilliance that you always wish you'd have sooner. I connected my iPhone to my iMac and opened Screenflow. I then exported to save it as a mp4 and saved to my Movies file on my iMac. I next opened Garageband (and I kept the "OLD" out of date Garageband because you can do so many more things with it than the newer versions except now none of my PHOTOS will show up in it...drat).
I selected the Movie Project in Garageband (you have voice projects, music projects and many other choices). This way I'd be able to drag the dog mp4 into garageband and actually be able to see the movie so I could time the audio and the sound effect tracks I added.
I couldn't shorten the movie (thank goodness I'd trimmed it in Screenflow 5) but I could control fading the music out. I saved my finished masterpiece to iTunes.
I then went back to Screenflow and reopened the now finished mp4 (movie) and added the text that you see. I once again exported to my Movies file.
Now I could come to Weebly, add the HD element and upload what you see above. I have written this blog because it looks like such a simple thing to do. Flim a little video, add a little music (which I've paid for so I'm not infringing on copyrights) and then turn it into a format that you can actually see. So this 13 seconds which in slow motion equaled 37 seconds and much of my afternoon. I'm treating this as one of my numerous on-going educational experiences I must have in order to share those things I find important.
It's official. Each Thursday at 11 A.M. you can expect The Carol Butler Show to be LIVE streaming on FACEBOOK LIVE! I've spent months learning about what most people wish they knew and don't. I have worked on a school platform for over a year which will soon launch my first course.
The Carol Butler Show is a result of months spent learning how to do things for my online course school. I hope to share mini-courses here and on the school platform. One thing you can count on with this site and this show...there's always a positive take away.
Please share with others to spread the word and enjoy my weekly shows which as I always say, will never be longer than the time it takes to learn, see and hear the great outcome for you!
Every 6 months something seems to change as far as banner size, profile size, header sizes on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Pinterest and it can be daunting to keep up with all of them. So found this, the cheat sheet you need to make sure you're always looking good!
We are usually up at the crack of dawn because of all the animals but today we needed to drive toward Charlotte to get Katherine's truck back in time for me to finish writing the special offer and getting it up on this site. By the way, it was my first pdf to sell and will only be up between shows.
Got back, attached PayPal to this site (just changed it to an ecommerce site so I can actually sell my digital creations (audio, video, and pdfs and whatever else I come up with that will make your life better and feed my rescues).
How to Prepare to keep your animals cool if your AC goes out...and I'll try to keep my mouth shut up to a point!
This is me after I learned how to shoot in landscape and be upright on Facebook Live Streaming! Yea!
Katherine Gillis knows me. That's the first how. Take a look. She describes herself, what she's doing, shows two examples and invites you to LIKE her Facebook page and I bet you cannot resist.
