This was fun to give a shout out to a talented friend and professional journalist, copywriter, editor and PR specialist. Take a quick listen and see what we're up to!!
Being the helpful creative collaborator for Katherine Gillis and her upcoming course "Become a Fearless Traditional Retoucher" has meant turning into a "Techie." This share was fun for me. The magic of technology is that I got her actual iPhone up so she could show you where to go LIKE her and two examples of her befores and afters. Hope you enjoy and share. We did the FACEBOOK LIVE broadcast and the replay is on her site (www.katherinegillis.com) but we want you to LIKE her at Katherine Gillis Traditional Retoucher & Spotter on Facebook. Take a look at this and then watch the broadcast. As always you can comment and send her questions.
We all learn differently. Some of us like to read something first, then see it and then hear it. Taking that into account if you wish to teach anyone else something or learn something yourself then understanding how your brain feels about it may help.
No I'm not going into a technical explanation. (OK, your visual ability to process visual information like shapes and colors is in the area of your brain called the Occipital Lobe). But you don't need to know what it's called to actually know it's in the back of your head and it helps you grasp visuals quickly.
Most courses, particularly online and most conferences and some presenters realize that a photo, a visual, a diagram, a drawing, a map tell a story. We like stories.
We like grasping information fast. Your brain gets emotionally triggered by visuals. Used well, the association causes better retention.
