Professional Traditional Retoucher Offers Specialty Online Course for Analog Photographers
In this time of digital everything, traditional analog (film) photographers now have an online course option for retouching scratches or flaws in printed photographs.
Katherine Gillis, a master of photographic print retouching and since 1993 the exclusive Ansel Adams Special Edition print retoucher, will offer a course in mid-January through the professional school platform Ofcourseware.xyz which debuts with this course.
The six-module course, “Become a Fearless Traditional Retoucher & Spotter,” will explain and demonstrate details of applying dyes, mixing palettes and choosing appropriate brushes.
Gillis will appear live on THE CAROL BUTLER SHOW page on Facebook at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5th to promote the course and answer questions.
Interested photographers may sign up for Gillis’ free Tools & Resources Checklist at www.katherinegillis.com to automatically receive course information and module outlines.
Gillis attended the Veronica Cass Academy of Photographic Arts and has clients from as far away as Norway in addition to the Ansel Adams print work. “I have often been referred to as a retoucher’s retoucher,” Gillis said. “The opportunity to share my years of experience with both veterans and novices is exciting! Retouching can be intimidating – my course will help eliminate the fear factor.”
Course developer Carol Butler, an accomplished photographer, playwright and communications professional, said interest is high in this unusual course, which addresses the nitty-gritty details that can make photographic prints look truly professional.
