You know how you start doing one thing and it leads to your having to do another, and then another? Well, I call it string theory. I set out to optimize SEO on this site since I've upgraded it to set up digital information products. (You have a lot to look forward to.)
I watched Weebly videos on my YouTube site. That was mind blowing because there were so many. Then I noticed new things about YouTube which I had not before. Things like something called "CARDS." Apparently as many people liked them as others did not. They are replacing annotations on YouTube videos (text that pops up over whatever you're watching; not necessarily an ad because you are the one doing it.) The "CARDS," I learned would allow me to have what I'll call pop up text appear on any one of my videos from the beginning or I could put it in the middle or end the video with some invitation (like visit my website, buy my books,) but I couldn't say fund my gofundme because I'd have to be a nonprofit. (Or I could add a FAN CARD if I get 1000 subscribers. Want to subscribe?) I couldn't add in my online school because it's not on their list. So until there are more choices for me you won't be inundated with anything from me, unless of course I feel it will serve you.
Side tracked creating one "CARD" on one video on my YouTube channel. Arriving there I realized I didn't like my channel art any more. What logo would best represent someone now who will be selling (I give so much away but the cats have gotta eat) digital information products, the books I've authored, perhaps sponsorship of The Carol Butler Show when I live stream or pointings to my online course school which is GOING TO LAUNCH SOON but as yet is but a blog destination to keep up with when I launch. I've been out to launch for months, but it is a rare course which will officially open my school at www.ofcourseware.xyz and this is why quality is paramount for me. I've always thought anything I put my signature on is going to be great.
Used my considerable knowledge from another lifetime ago to create the perfect fit for my new channel art which I have for the moment decided would be Mack the Cat (one of my many rescues) looking up. With a nod to my school (no one else will get yet) I placed the words: "Of Course Saying Yes To Learning How To." Then there's that wonderful suggested "things are looking up" photo of Mack the Cat.
This caused me to recognize that my SEO (for those of you off the planet; many of my friends, this simply means Search Engine Optimization). If you don't have it, those in the outer space of the massive Internet will NEVER find you. Rather tricky business it is. Companies hire people just to optimize it every single day. I've been so busy with all the other things like learning Mailchimp (monkey delivers your mail if you give people a reason to get in their mailbox), Leadpages which doesn't play well with Weebly, but "boxes" quite well with Leadboxes (meaning, I'm going to give you a reason to get into your head and you will like me for it). Hopefully you will LIKE me at: https://www.facebook.com/carolkingbutler/. That's my Facebook Page (meaning business Facebook location as opposed to Facebook Profile which is known as my personal Facebook Timeline). Confused? I know.
Weebly referred me to a company that would help me do my SEO and hold my hand. That took another 30 minutes and I'm not sure if it's working, but then I'm not entirely set up to have it benefit me currently. Digital Products are not available. Got a lot of building to do here.
I just put my instructor for the upcoming course "Become A Fearless Traditional Retoucher & Spotter" on Twitter, something I need to use more of but being verbose, it isn't my best fit with a limit of 140 characters. That could be the name of my next book (kidding). Katherine Gillis is very smart. She will practice Twitter connecting after she finishes more Ansel Adams retouching that just came in. Who would have thought Ansel Adams would be the bell saving her from eternity with me at my computer making sure 5 Facebook "pages" are operational (I have what I call a practice one so if I totally screw up something I'm not sure will work correctly, I go there. Yes, feel free to see some practiced Live Streams (very short lived...I take most of them down not long after I publish) at Minute Promotional Videos.
Now you can watch mistakes happen live sometimes. Well I do create some promotional videos, usually Powtoons to send to people. The monkey (Mailchimp) delivers them. They take quite a while to write and produce which is why they only go out once a month.
As I'm writing this post I'm getting notifications that my computer backup has failed. It's Labor Day and I can't contact the offsite company I use to be my second saver of computer creations. I now must hope Time Machine and a LaCie External Hard Drive don't decide to die before Wednesday when I can get to that. My newer Toshiba external hard drive was a must have, since I retired my other iMac and needed to wipe it clean. Still valuable stuff on that baby. Giving it to a friend who will not be doing the high tech type things I am (whether I want to or not).
My legs are now cramped from sitting at this computer all day, rushing to do one thing, running into another, interrupted by cats and a dog for feedings, to wash their morning bowls, to change the squirrels, cardinals and finches' water and if it were not for them I'd probably have chronic dry eye...hey wait, I do. If not for them I probably would never be interrupted by the string theory...unlikely.
Much to do. I know I don't have the time you do. My time flies so fast I reach out to touch it. I'm always engrossed in whatever I am doing, totally absorbed by curiosity, deadlines, frustration or like a mother, who sound asleep, hears a baby goo-goo two rooms away, I'm off to do that other part of my life and come back and start where I'd tried to go earlier today when I got strung along by the "we're all important" and "you have to address this now" string theory! Everything is connected, but not sequentially.
